The coin itself was made of 835/1000 Silver and had a reeded grained edge. This circular coin had a raised un-decorated rim. It weighed 12.5 grams, and had a diameter of 30mm. The back of the 10 $ coin fetures and Old sailing ship sailing to the left on the ocean above (year) 1954 or 1955. Micro text on the right hand side features the coin designers name J. OA SILVA. The legend of coin features the state name REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA.
